Get Informed Before You Commit

At NorthSide Solar, we believe in honest, pressure-free service—and that means encouraging homeowners to do their homework before making a big investment.

It’s advisable to get at least five quotes from different solar contractors before signing anything. A reputable installer should have no problem with this—because good work speaks for itself.

When comparing quotes, make sure each contractor provides the same key details, so you can make an informed, apples-to-apples comparison:

  • Total system price, clearly listed including GST
  • Estimated Year 1 energy production (in kilowatt-hours, or kWh)
  • System size, listed in both kW DC (solar panel capacity) and kW AC (inverter output)
  • Basic and extended workmanship warranties, with clear coverage terms
  • Call-out rates for post-install service and diagnostics
  • ✅ A clearly defined expected completion timeline, so you know when to expect the system to be fully installed and operational

If a quote is missing any of this, ask for it in writing. If a contractor dodges the question or gives vague answers, consider it a red flag.

At NorthSide Solar, we’re upfront about every detail—from pricing to timelines—so you can feel confident in your solar investment from day one.
